This is an unmarked site and there is a reason for that. If you didn't know the story, you might think it's a nice place to stop for a scenic view overlooking everything. The story behind it is extremely sad. It is believed that the daughter of an Indian Chief was going to be forced to marry someone chosen by her father. You could call it an arranged marriage. The couple decided that the marriage was not going to happen. Is the story true? I really don't know. It has also been told that George Lippard "The Romancer of the Wissahickon" got married at this spot.
